Weekly Data Update (March 25-April 1, 2025)

Military violence increases; Israeli action continues; as security warnings lead to raids on pro-Assad insurgents around Damascus.

While the overall level of deadly violence across Syria remained almost exactly the same as the week prior — with 88 deaths recorded this week, and 87 the week before — the proportion of deaths caused by unexploded ordinance declined significantly, from 30% last week to 19% this week. In other words, the frequency and deadliness of armed and military attacks and actions rose notably over the past seven days, particularly in the form of targeted killings, as well as kidnaps and executions.
